As we start a new year, we all focus on new goals or plans for the year ahead. Many persons set New Year’s resolutions on how they will make the year better than the former. For many it’s like an endless cycle, make a plan; start off good; fall of track; struggle to catch up and then it’s feels like time speeds up and bam a new year is here and we are back at planning again.
This year I want to encourage you to tap into God’s Faithfulness. How do you do this? Commit your plans, your desires and your goals to the Lord. His nature is one that is faithful, you can trust Him with the things you want to accomplish and if you seek Him, He will show you how to get it done.
In August of 2017 I remember telling the Lord that I needed to lose weight. For my health it was important. I remember the prayer: “Lord help me, show me and give me the strength not to quit.” I can testify to the faithfulness of God because he did just that. On the days when I wanted to give up, I would be reminded that He was my strength. So I pushed. By November of the same year, I was 76lbs lighter. Was it easy? Not at all; but God was faithful. I committed my plan towards being healthy to Him and He showed himself strong.
Will your goals and dreams of 2020 be easy to attain? Maybe not. Is anything worth achieving ever easy? My plea to you is simple; lay it all out before the Lord. Talk with Him, ask Him to guide you through the process and follow His lead.
God is constant, true and dependable…He is Faithful.
Scriptural Reminder:
“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.”
